The National Society of Professional Surveyors
National Surveyors week will be celebrated this week, March 17-23, nationwide by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). National surveyors’ week is intended to create a platform for connecting common people and the surveyor’s community. Thousands of surveyors from all over the US will be planning activities this week to bring awareness to an industry that has been so important to the development and construction of our country.
Surveying is a historic profession and can be traced back to the very beginning of the planning and development of our society. Surveyors have been the foundation for important planning and designing processes that have resulted in structures from famous landmarks such as The White House to residential neighborhoods in New Haven.
Accuracy & Results
This week marks the anniversary of a week long celebration that over 45,000 surveyors in our country should be recognized for their contribution to the growth and sustainability of our country. This week we can look back at the historic contributions that Surveying has provided for us and also look ahead at what new exciting technologies are around the corner.
This week is also dedicated to teaching students about the profession of surveyors and encourage others to pursue their interests in this industry.
“As long as property ownership remains one of the pillars of life in America, the role of surveyors will remain vital,” said Curt Sumner, executive director of NSPS. “To this day, owning land, America’s greatest asset, remains the American dream. Without the knowledge, abilities, and guidance of a professional surveyor to determine boundaries this dream largely disappears.”For more information about National Surveyors Week, log onto www.nsps.us.com
